It's a short week for us! Don't forget, no school tomorrow. We DO have school on Monday. :) Here are some things to keep in mind for the upcoming week.
Jefferson City- Please turn in your money and permission slips as soon as possible. I have almost all permission slips, but I am waiting on money from a few people. No rush, I would just like to have it by Friday, April 1.
Long Division- It is THAT time of year. Yes, long division time. :) Fourth graders generally get this, but there are a few factors that affect their understanding. First of all, math facts. If your child still doesn't know their math fact, long division will be hard for them. Also, paying attention is another factor. If your child struggles to pay attention, the long process of long division can be tiresome and confusing. So, that being said, I would HIGHLY recommend you sitting down with your child in the evenings to see if they are understanding long division. We have only briefly covered it this week, so next week would be the best time. There are 21 students in this classroom, so there simply isn't time for one on one with everyone. I need your help! A few practice problems each evening with your one on one attention will do wonders! :)
Grade Cards- Grade cards come home today along with your child's data binder. Please be looking for these! :)
Walking Field Trip- Next week we will be taking a walking field trip to the high school on Friday to watch a theatrical performance. If you do not want your child to participate, please let me know.
